Friday June 29 – Iowa State Fair Speedway – Des Moines, IA
 

Chris traveled to Des Moines to race the #7 Mastersbilt owned by Russ Byriel. The car was Chris’s car from last season, and he went up to shake it down for Russ and make sure everything was ready to go for him. Chris started last in his heat race and made it up to the 5th spot. Chris lined up 13th in the A-main and raced his way to the 9th spot at the checkers.

The car had too much stagger and Chris had not raced on the IMCA Hoosier spec tire before. He searched for a groove and finally got the car moving forward in the last half of the event.

Chris stated that if the race had been a 40 or 50 lapper that he had a top 5 car, but that it just took him too long to get rolling.

We were glad to go up and help Russ out, and we wish him the best of luck moving forward.
