Friday May 11 - Lucas Oil Speedway - Wheatland, MO

A very stout field of 60 cars was on hand to compete for a spot in the $25,000 to win 1st annual Diamond Nationals. Chris timed in a very respectable 28th out of 60 cars and earned the 5th starting spot in the 4th heat race.

 Chris held onto the 5th spot at the start of the heat and was working on John Mason for 4th when he hooked a rut entering turn one and pulled the left rear tire off the bead. The tire went flat and actually turned itself "inside out" on the wheel and covered the lugnuts up so that the guys had to saw the bead off to change the tire. We couldn't get the tire changed in time so we found ourselves on the tail of a B-main with only 15 laps to get to the top 2 spots.

We decided we would be better off if we cut our losses and headed over to the I-44 speedway in Lebanon, MO to compete in the $1,000 to win weekly show.
